Payment

Commissions under €100: full payment is due upfront before I begin work.
Commissions €100 and over: 50% deposit due before I begin work, remaining 50% due before I deliver the final files.

I'll agree on an estimated delivery date with you per project once your brief is confirmed — timelines vary too much by scope for a fixed blanket estimate.
Delays caused by slow or missing feedback from you don't count against the agreed timeline.

1 free revision round is included per commission.
Small tweaks — color, position, minor shape adjustments — are free and uncapped, and don't use up your included revision.
Changes requiring a redraw, a new pose or angle, or similar significant rework count as a revision.
Extra revisions beyond the included round are billed at a flat per-revision fee.
Major scope changes (new characters, a different concept entirely) are treated as a new commission.

Quotes are based on the brief you provide upfront.
Small scope growth — a bit more detail, a couple extra frames — is absorbed as part of the original quote, no surprise invoices for minor stuff.
If the actual scope grows significantly (more assets, added complexity, extra animations, etc.), I'll pause and send an updated quote before continuing — no extra work is billed without your approval first.

I don't take on NSFW content, hate symbols/imagery, or anything else I'm not comfortable creating.
If a brief falls into this category, I'll let you know and refund any deposit paid — no hard feelings.

Default license: personal use plus indirect commercial use (e.g. streaming, social media, hobby projects).
This doesn't include selling a commercial product built around the artwork or using it as a standalone commercial asset (game, app, merch, etc.).
Full commercial license and/or full rights transfer are available for an additional fee, discussed per project.
I retain full copyright of the artwork unless you've purchased a full rights transfer.
I retain the right to display commissioned work in my portfolio and on socials, unless you request privacy in writing.

Final delivery includes exported files only (e.g. PNG, spritesheet) in the format agreed on in your brief.
Source/editable files (.aseprite, .psd, etc.) aren't included by default — available as a separate add-on if you want them.

If you share the artwork publicly (social media, storefront, credits page, etc.), please credit me by name or handle — "Maciaz" or DevilMayPlay.
Credit isn't required for private or personal use.

All artwork is drawn by hand, pixel by pixel — no AI generation tools are used at any stage.

Before any work has started: full refund of your deposit.
Work has started but is less than 50% complete: deposit is kept (non-refundable), no further billing.
Past 50% complete: deposit is kept, and the remaining completed work is invoiced proportionally.

If I need to cancel or am unable to continue a commission, I'll refund your deposit in full minus a small admin/kill fee to cover time already spent on communication and planning.

If you go unresponsive, the project is paused after 3 business days without a reply.
You then have 14 days from the pause to return and resume the project.
After 14 days of total silence, the commission is cancelled with no refund.

This clause covers unannounced absences only — if you let me know in advance, it doesn't apply.

A clear brief and reference material are required from you upfront before work begins.
